DESCRIPTION:The workshop will be open to all interested 5G constituencies\, including inter alia manufacturers and suppliers\, telecom operators\, national authorities in charge of telecom and spectrum policy and regulation\, as well as representatives of the vertical industries looking at the use of 5G for relevant use cases. \nThe European 5G Observatory (https://5gobservatory.eu) was launched in September 2018 to monitor market developments and preparatory actions taken by industry stakeholders and Member States in the context of 5G roll-out in Europe and beyond. Its current focus is on the monitoring of the state of play regarding the remaining 5G Action Plan targets related to spectrum assignments and service deployments\, together with the new Digital Decade targets and other specific indicators to be monitored. \nThis event will be an opportunity to exchange views on the current state of play of 5G deployment\, the latest market trends and global developments. \nThe morning session will concentrate on what has been achieved\, how the 5G AP targets have been fulfilled so far\, and what have we learned now that 5G is reality in almost all EU Member States. \nThe early afternoon session will be about 5G in the Digital Decade\, considering issues like the prospects towards the ‘full 5G’ target\, what could complementary targets be\, e.g. for vertical sectors\, and how to measure deployment progress and quality. \n  \nFurther information and registration are available here.

DESCRIPTION:The 5G PPP partnership has been a successful collaborative research effort to create and apply 5G technology with a European footprint. in this partnership\, Large industry\, SMEs and Academia have collaborated to shape the 5G building blocks\, influence standardisation and trial meaningful use cases for society and the economy. A central part of the 5G PPP was working closely together with vertical industries and Memorandum of Understandings have been set in place with vertical industry associations such as 5GAA\, ERTICO\, ESA\, PSCE\, ECSO and others to ensure participation and dialogue. \nLooking forward\, a new private partnership is about to start to drive 5G evolution and create 6G technology. This partnership is again an initiative bringing together industry and the European Commission and will be called “Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU)”. Almost 1 Billion euro will be made available to a large set of players\, including all economic sectors\, to shape network technologies and services of the future serving digital transformation of our society and economy. DESCRIPTION:Webinar co-organized by NGIoT\, AIOTI\, and IoT Forum \nIn the past years the role of standardisation as a bridge between research activities and the market has been increasingly recognised\, both by EU institutions and by R&D stakeholders. The incorporation of the latest knowledge into new standards can provide the foundation for further developments\, new research and ultimately new knowledge\, creating a virtuous knowledge circle of standards and research. This workshop\, co-organised by NGIoT\, AIOTI and the IoT Forum will be composed of three online webinars.
