Its mission is to empower cities and collectivise urban innovation across the globe. Through promoting social innovation, establishing partnerships and identifying business opportunities, the event is dedicated to creating a better future for cities and their citizens.

AFFORDABLE5G at CCW 2021

Affordable5G partner Nemergent Solutions SL will attend the CCW (Critical Communications World) event in Madrid on November 3-5 2021 (Recently postponed from its original dates in June).

Critical Communications World brings mission-critical and business-critical end-users and manufacturers all together, under one roof, all for free.

Meet the Partners: i2CAT

i2CAT is a non-profit technology and innovation centre located in Barcelona, Spain, which promotes R+D+i activities in Internet Technologies within the ICT industry.

i2CAT’s activities are concentrated around, but not limited to, novel network services and technologies (fixed and mobile), open access networks, sensor networks, e-health, networked media systems and industrial Internet, with special focus on NFV and SDW/N technologies, new clean slate architectures, Future Internet experimentation, sensor networks, IoT, M2M.

In Affordable5G, I2CAT will provide an integrated access and backhaul Wi-Fi outdoor solution that can be used to support the deployment of dense outdoor deployments. Moreover, major focus will be concentrated on the development of a non-real time RAN Controller adhering to the O-RAN A1 interface. i2CAT will also provide an slice manager that enables neutral hosting capabilities and the deployment of isolated end-to-end infrastructure network slices. Building on this, an AI-based component will be introduced to predict slice resource outages from the expected demand to ensure SLA.

It is positioned as a technology provider with significant expertise in designing novel multi-sector mission critical solutions over mobile broadband technologies. The innovation-driven nature of the company promotes the establishment of research links with different UE, Control Room and 4G/5G core leading companies.

Nemergent has a vast portfolio that includes a complete and fully 3GPP standard compliant Mission Critical Services (MCPTT, MCData & MCVideo) ecosystem. The server-side components are designed as NFV components, fostering agile and flexible deployments towards 5G.
